Job Description:
The Central CAD team in Microchip provides CAD services to the design business units, covering a wide range of tasks including PDK development and delivery, hardware infrastructure support, design tool installation, distribution and support, Library and IP procurement, as well as design flow environment and methodology for digital, analog, and mixed-signal designs.
The Central CAD team has a global presence with staff in multiple locations. With the increasing Microchip design presence in Cork, Ireland, the central CAD team aims to provide local analog and mixed signal CAD support, as well as additional time zone support for European design centres.
Your Role:
You will be reporting to the CAD Staff Engineer and part of the CAD Development group as a Linux System Administrator II. Your key responsibilities will include supporting Engineering users and resources both locally and remotely.

* Provide Technical Support and Guidance
* User & Account maintenance
Requirements:
* Education: BS in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field
* Experience: Two years of experience in information technology or system administration
* Tech Skills: Installation, administration, monitoring, and maintenance of secure Linux/Unix operating systems (RedHat/CentOS, Solaris), fundamental programming skills (Bash, Perl, Python, TCL, or similar languages), familiarity with Unix/Linux file systems and NFS computer node storage, Unix/Linux system security and file permissions
* Skills: Ability to identify and resolve problems, manage system performance, clearly communicate technical concepts, excellent organization and communication skills, ability to develop positive working relationships
