We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team for our projects in the Munster region who will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all personnel on-site, as well as compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
This is a key role where you will work closely with project managers, site teams, and senior leadership to implement, monitor, and enhance safety practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures tailored to the construction environment.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits on-site, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
* Ensure all projects comply with health and safety legislation, including relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
* Lead incident investigations and ensure accurate reporting and documentation.
* Provide expert advice and guidance to project managers, engineers, and site personnel on health and safety matters.
* Deliver training and toolbox talks to ensure all staff and contractors are aware of health and safety protocols and best practices.
* Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation, regulations, and company policies.
* Collaborate with regulatory bodies and represent the company during health and safety inspections.
* Maintain records of safety-related incidents, near misses, and safety training.
* Prepare and present detailed health and safety reports to senior management.
* Foster a positive health and safety culture within the project team and across the organisation.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in Health and Safety in a senior advisory capacity within the construction industry.
* In-depth knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and construction regulations.
* Proven track record of managing health and safety on large-scale construction projects.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Proven track record in incident investigation and report writing.
* Proficient in the use of health and safety management software and tools.
