We're hiring a Senior Buyer for a major construction project with a major GC. This is a hands‑on procurement role working across a fast‑paced, high‑spec project environment ideal for someone who knows the construction supply chain inside out.
What you'll be doing
You'll own end‑to‑end procurement across construction packages, subcontractors, consultants, goods and services. That means managing POs, leading negotiations, executing category strategies, and staying well ahead of the curve on supply chain risks. You'll also be sourcing long‑lead equipment (switchgear, UPS, cooling systems, generators), supporting bid/tender processes, and working closely with commercial, cost control, and engineering teams to keep projects on time and on budget.
There's a mentoring element too, you'll be supporting a Junior Buyer and leading procurement at both internal and external project meetings.
What we're looking for
Degree in Construction, QS, Procurement or equivalent
3+ years' procurement experience in construction, infrastructure, or data centre projects
Solid knowledge of MEP systems and construction materials
Strong negotiator with familiarity across standard forms of contract
Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system
Commercial head, good with budgets, and comfortable reporting to management
