Senior Business Analyst – Automation & BPM (Financial Services)Location: Dublin (Hybrid)Company: Consulting Firm Client: Leading Financial Services Institution Experience Required: Minimum 4 years as a BAAbout the Role We are looking for a seasoned Business Analyst to join a delivery team focused on automation initiatives within the financial sector.
This role suits someone who has already been tested in complex environments, understands how financial institutions operate, and knows how to translate business needs into structured, actionable requirements.
You'll work directly with business stakeholders, technology teams, and process experts to support automation and BPM solutions.
Key Responsibilities Lead the requirements-gathering process and produce clear, structured documentation (BRDs, FRDs, process maps, user stories).
Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation or optimisation.
Work closely with architects and engineering teams to ensure requirements are fully understood and correctly implemented.
Support BPM solution design on BPM, Power Apps, PEGA or similar platforms.
Facilitate workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
Ensure traceability from requirements through to delivery.
Assist in test planning, UAT coordination, and validation of delivered features.
Maintain strong alignment with compliance, risk, and regulatory standards common in financial services.
Required Experience & Skills Minimum 4+ years as a Business Analyst in fast-paced technology or consulting environments.
Solid experience in automation projects or BPM initiatives .
Hands-on experience with BPM / workflows (or another major BPM tool, such as Appian or Pega, Microsoft Power Platform).
Strong domain knowledge in banking or financial services (payments, lending, onboarding, KYC, operations, etc.).
Proven ability to map complex processes and identify gaps or inefficiencies.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down ambiguous problems into clear steps.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have Experience working in a consultancy or professional services environment.
Familiarity with automation tooling (RPA, decision engines, workflow orchestration).
Understanding of regulatory frameworks in finance (PSD2, AML, Mi FID, etc.).
