The Client and overview of the Role: My Client are a Connacht-based Construction Main Contractor with an annual turnover in excess of €100m. They have numerous live projects across the Region and are focus on Public Works (hospitals, schools, offices etc.), pharma/civil infrastructure + housing. They have won numerous awards over the last 80+ years and are keen to keep progressing. We are hiring for Site Engineer/Senior Site Engineer for pharma, commercial or housing projects in Sligo, Longford and Donegal. Ideally we'd like to find someone who wants to progress to Senior Engineer, Site Manager or PM & Contracts Manager level in the future. As Site Engineer/Setting-Out Engineer you'll be working as part of a team and will also be responsible for producing As-Built drawings and various other documents for Technical Submittals (Irish Water, ESB, Local Authorities etc.), Setting-Out or supervising a Setting-Out Engineer, subcontractor management, ordering materials and managing logistics for deliveries etc. This is the type of Company that will offer you a good challenge and great working environment, whilst keeping you busy in Connacht and developing your Construction knowledge and skills. Main responsibilities will include: Setting-Out using total station or supervising Setting-Out Engineers where required. Carrying out setting out and surveying activities for various building trades using robotic total station and dumpy level. Coordinate and liaise with Contracts Manager, Site Engineers and Services Coordinator to ensure that all subcontractors and site personnel have timely and accurate information. Ensuring that all materials used, and work performed are as per specification and drawing requirements. Supervising and coordinating subcontractors, conducting site inspections, and providing technical expertise. Involvement in project planning, risk management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulation. Managing and maintaining the RFI register on site. Managing and maintaining the submittals register on site. Requirements: Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management related discipline 2+ Experience as a Site Engineer/Setting-Out Engineer with a Main Contractor or Residential Developer. Experience using setting out equipment - Eg. total station, GPS and laser levels. Knowledge of temporary works coordination. Strong attention to detail and able to work on own initiative.
