Greenhill Nursing Home Carrick on Suir are seeking an experienced full time chef to help enrich the lives of our residents by providing high quality, fresh meals catered to a range of dietary requirements. The chef is an integral part of the day to day running of the nursing home. We are looking for a proactive, encouraging person to train and provide guidance to our kitchen assistants, while providing an enriching dining experience for our residents.
Qualifications
Proven culinary expertise/qualification with knowledge of HACCP guidelines, hygiene and food safety regulations
Previous experience in a medical/care of the elderly setting an advantage working with different food textures
In depth knowledge of dietary requirements catering to diabetic diets etc.
Experience in effectively managing a kitchen in terms of stock rotation, ordering, supervising kitchen assistants, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a hands on approach ensuring preparation is done in a timely manner ahead of resident meal times
Be an organized individual able to maintain relevant documentation, attend in house meetings as required and support a safe, compliant work environment
Successful candidates will be subject to garda vetting.
Manual handling essential and further training for the nursing home environment will be provided
Salary negotiable depending on experience
Flexibility required across weekdays and weekends
Hours 7.30am - 5pm, across 4-5 days per week
