Amber Domestic Abuse: Domestic Abuse Outreach & Court Support Worker and Refuge Project Worker
Amber Domestic Abuse CLG invites applications for the following positions:
Amber Domestic Abuse CLG is a long-established organisation working to empower women and children of all cultures and backgrounds to live abuse-free lives. As a specialist domestic abuse service our professional team works alongside others to safeguard women and children against domestic abuse, including coercive control. We provide safe, supportive, client centred services, from early intervention to recovery, both in the community and at the refuge.

Domestic Abuse Outreach & Court Support Worker
1 year Fixed Term-Maternity Leave Cover (39 hrs) Working hours Monday-Friday 9-5 flexibility is required.
Kilkenny and Carlow Based
The purpose of this post is:

To work with the management and outreach team to continue to develop a sustainable and comprehensive Outreach service for Amber and to maintain linkages with other service providers in order to raise awareness of domestic violence and abuse and the services provided by Amber.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

A full clean driving licence and use of own car is essential for this post and needs to be noted in your application.
A Third level qualification in Social Care, Community Development or other related discipline.
A minimum of 2 years work experience in a similar role which included outreach service delivery/community development.
A working knowledge and insight into the issues affecting women and children experiencing domestic violence and abuse and the impact on their physical, emotional and psychological development.
Experience of working co-operatively with other relevant services, and excellent skills in relationship building and networking.
Flexibility required to meet service needs.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work well in a team and lone working environment.
Experience of Group Facilitation and Training.
Experience of crisis management and that of working with people who may present with complex needs.
An understanding of risk and needs assessment and of the principles of risk management.

Full Time Position - Working hours Shift Work (13 hour day shift and 12 hour waking night shift)
The role requires flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends in line with the organisation’s rolling roster.
Kilkenny Based on Site Refuge
The purpose of this post is:
To provide a safe and supportive environment, in a primary support role, that involves assessing and addressing the unique needs of clients as part of tailored support plans within the service.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Amber operates a 5% contributory pension scheme, which you may join on completion of six months service.
