Clinical Specialist CT Radiographer - FTC

Overview of role:
UPMC Aut Even is recruiting a Clinical Specialist CT Radiographer on an 11-month fixed term contract. The role involves supporting the operational management of the CT service, working closely with and under the guidance of the Radiology Services Manager. The aim is to provide a high-quality radiology service to all patients attending Aut Even, in line with professional best practices and hospital policies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Sharing in-depth knowledge obtained from experience and postgraduate training in all aspects of the CT radiology department.
* Understanding, implementing, and supporting documentation to manage legislation related to the use of ionising radiation in CT (SI 30 2019 & SI 256 2018).
* Developing the CT service continually.
* Overseeing training, development, and maintaining competence of the CT team.
* Liaising with the RSM, CSRs, and Radiologists to develop and maintain an efficient cross-site service.
* Supporting the optimisation of patient pathways in collaboration with the Radiology Management team.
* Participating actively in all clinical components of the roster.
* Demonstrating leadership skills aligned with Hospital Values.
* Supporting and deputising for the RSM when required.
* Participating in all aspects of the CT service, demonstrating expertise in imaging techniques and processes.
* Supporting the development and implementation of protocols and guidelines to ensure consistent service delivery.
* Managing resources efficiently and effectively.
* Maintaining records for equipment safety, staff training, activity, and budget management.
* Ensuring equipment performance and taking corrective action if faults are noted.
* Participating in recruitment and responding to patient or carer complaints.
* Engaging in departmental audits and liaising with clinical teams for effective communication.
* Contributing to the business planning and governance of the department, including risk management and incident investigation.
* Maintaining personal CPD and adhering to the Code of Conduct per CORU requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
* BSc in Diagnostic Radiography, recognized by the Irish Institute of Radiography.
* CORU registration.
* At least 6 years of post-graduation clinical experience.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience at a senior level in a CT department.
* Postgraduate qualification is desirable.
* Experience in a hospital environment is essential.
* Up-to-date BLS certification.
