Our client is currently looking for a Child and Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist with special interest in Eating Disorders.
This post forms part of a specialist eating disorder service within a stepped‑care model.
Such teams typically:
Function within a national or regional eating disorder network.
Provide equitable access to evidence‑based eating disorder treatment for young people.
Offer specialist input at stepped‑care levels, including:
Outpatient care (assessment, therapy, dietetics)
Inpatient consultation and support
What is on offer:
Salary of €235,862 to €283,318 per year DOE
37 hours work week
30 days annual leave
10 days public holidays
Up to 10 days medical education leave
Up to €12,000 for continuous medical education
Up to €8,000 for research/project
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical leadership within designated areas of responsibility
Delivery of clinical services within service plans and policy frameworks
Participation in service planning, development, and evaluation
Collaboration with management in resource allocation and service efficiency
Professional supervision of junior doctors and multidisciplinary team members
Provision of consultation to colleagues as required
Participation in clinical audit, risk management, and quality initiatives
Engagement in research and continuing professional development
Compliance with professional, ethical, and regulatory standards
Eating Disorder–Specific Duties
Ensure timely assessment and treatment for moderate to severe eating disorders
Provide specialist input to complex or high‑risk cases
Reduce need for inpatient admissions through early intervention
Support general CAMHS teams managing less severe cases
Develop consistent, evidence‑based treatment pathways
Work to minimise duration of inpatient stays and enhance continuity of care
Provide structured liaison with medical teams for physically compromised patients
Other Requirements
Ability to travel for clinical or administrative duties where necessary
Specialist registration in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (or equivalent)
Demonstrated expertise in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders
Strong clinical, leadership, communication, and MDT collaboration skills
