About Live Art Ireland
Live Art Ireland aims to create a community connecting local artists with broader networks. We focus on artists working outside mainstream arts institutions, fostering multidisciplinary research, experimentation, and art production. Our goal is to provide opportunities for local, national, and international artists working in live art, performance art, contemporary dance, participatory practice, and artist film and video. We prioritize inclusivity, addressing intersections of class, able-bodied normativity, Travellers, BIPOC, gender, and sexuality, especially Queer, Transgender, and Intersex People of Colour, as well as individuals and groups with diverse backgrounds.
The Role
We seek a volunteer to serve as a finance board member. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fine art and share our inclusive vision. Currently, our board has 7 members. We prefer someone local to North Tipperary, near Portumna in East Galway, or Birr in Offaly, as they will need to sign off on financial matters related to grants. Experience in finance or accounting is essential.
Preferred experience includes:
* Performance Art Festival
* Arts and culture
* Community-based arts practice
Previous board or committee experience is a plus but not required.
General Duties of the Treasurer
* Provide financial oversight
* Review policies and procedures
* Maintain financial records
* Present financial reports at board meetings
* Support the organization’s vision and mission
* Create budgets with other board members
* Uphold values of diversity, inclusion, and access
Board meetings occur quarterly online.
