My client, an engineering group with specialist divisions, has an upcoming role for an operations director within their ICT/technical engineer sector.
Operations Director Europe The Operations Director will lead all operational functions to ensure the organisation delivers high-quality services efficiently, profitably, and in alignment with its strategic goals.
This role oversees day-to-day operations, drives continuous improvement, manages key teams, and serves as a senior leader supporting growth, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities A.
Operational Leadership Lead and manage all day-to-day operational activities across the business.
Ensure service delivery performance meets or exceeds agreed SLAs, KPIs, and customer expectations.
Drive operational planning, resource coordination, scheduling, and workflow optimisation.
Maintain strong communication and alignment between site teams, and management.
B.
Financial & Commercial Management Manage operational budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-serve metrics.
Control labour costs, subcontractor spend, materials, and operational overheads.
Support commercial teams with operational insights for bids, tenders, pricing, and solution design.
Ensure timely job close-out and accurate billing through strong operational governance.

Quality, Safety & Compliance Ensure adherence to industry regulations, customer requirements, safety standards, and internal policies.
Oversee quality assurance frameworks, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support incident investigations and ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented.
D.
Customer Engagement Act as a senior operational contact for key customers.
Lead monthly/quarterly performance reviews, presenting operational data and improvement plans.
Manage escalations and ensure proactive communication on service performance.
Strengthen customer relationships through operational excellence and reliability.

People Leadership Lead and mentor managers and team leads across operations.
Drive a culture of accountability, performance, safety, and continuous improvement.
Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, training, and competency development.
Conduct performance reviews and ensure clear objectives for all operational staff.
Requirements: *Degree/Qualification in relevant discipline, Technical Engineering, e.g.
