Job Title: Health Professional
The site safety specialist will work closely with management and teams to develop safe working practices, risk assessments, and health and safety policies.
Main Responsibilities:
* Stay up to date with relevant legislation and advise the site manager on any changes.
* Maintain a safe working environment at the site, ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation, best practice, and approved codes of practice.
* Manage the risk assessment and safe operating procedures process, ensuring supervisors and managers review these documents regularly in line with business standards and current legislation.
* Deliver the site health and safety induction programme for all new starters, contractors, and visitors to the site.
* Manage near miss and accident reporting processes for health and safety, and the environment, ensuring incidents are fully investigated and recorded in line with business standards.
Additional Duties:
* Ensure the site management team implements corrective actions established as part of an incident investigation.
* Maintain the site register of interactive safety tours and ensure site managers conduct tours in alignment with the agreed site schedule.
* Conduct internal audits of the site.
* Develop and continuously update the site safety plan, ensuring compliance with health and safety training.
* Facilitate the tri-monthly site safety committee meeting and create and distribute meeting minutes.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Hold relevant qualifications and certifications.
* Have a working knowledge of formal management systems.
* Be an active member of a professional body such as IOSH or similar accredited organisation.
* Communicate confidently and professionally at all levels within the organisation.
