About the Role
This exciting collaboration across multiple local government areas requires an Engagement Officer to assist with home safety checks.
As a temporary cover until end of March, you will be working within the Community and Wellbeing directorate to support the delivery of home safety checks in various council areas.
You will have the opportunity to travel to different locations with mileage reimbursement and access to a car for business purposes.
Duties
* Carry out home safety checks identifying areas of risk and providing advice to reduce accidents in the home.
* Conduct needs assessments, provide equipment, and ensure residents use it safely to reduce their risk of injury.
* Make referrals to relevant statutory bodies based on needs assessments and resident consent.
* Maintain records of each home visit and complete computer records.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
* 5 GCSEs Grade C or above (including English Language) or equivalent, plus at least 1 year's relevant experience, or 3 years' relevant experience.
* Relevant experience engaging with families, older people, or responsibility/enforcement experience of health and safety in the workplace including risk assessment.
* Excellent communication and IT skills.
