Retail Horticulture Manager Position
Are you a knowledgeable horticulturist with a flair for retail and a passion for engaging with customers? We're looking for a Retail Horticultural Manager to lead and grow our vibrant horticulture department.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, train and support a team of employees to provide outstanding customer service and plant care advice.
* Day-to-day management and coordination of team members, ensuring they are carrying out their assigned tasks to the required standards.
* Oversee and manage the DIY Department within the Garden Centre.
* Manage stock, including ordering, goods inward, merchandising, and stock control to maintain a vibrant and well-stocked retail space.
* Implement sales strategies, promotions, and seasonal product planning.
* Foster strong relationships with customers, providing expert guidance tailored to their needs, and resolving any customer queries in a timely manner.
* Manage performance metrics to drive business growth.
Requirements
* Retail Management or Supervisory experience, preferably in a garden centre background or horticultural background.
* A Horticultural qualification, with the ability to demonstrate a strong knowledge in gardening and plant care.
* Experience leading teams, mentoring staff, and creating a positive and productive workplace culture.
* A strong Customer-focus, with a genuine interest in helping customers find the right plants and products for their needs.
* Detail-oriented to ensure plants are well-maintained, displays are inviting, and operations run smoothly.
* Excellent communications skills when dealing with customers and team members.
