To meet the growing demand for AWS cloud computing capacity in EMEA, we are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join the data center commissioning team.
Key Responsibilities
Support vendors, contractors, and internal teams in the construction and commissioning of various systems, including high, medium, and low voltage power systems; generators; UPS; HVAC; chilled water systems; building management systems (BMS); electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS); and pumps and hydronic systems.
Provide multi-disciplinary input into scheduling, test-script development, design, and planning of projects.
Review component submittal packages, lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and perform system-level and integrated system testing.
Audit activities during commissioning to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
Deliver comprehensive weekly status reports and lessons learned to continually improve program quality.
Physical Requirements
Walk job sites on uneven terrain.
Work at heights, on ladders, and with regular standing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
Carry objects weighing up to 49 pounds for short distances.
Work shifts longer than eight hours, including nights and weekends.
Respond to off-hour emergency calls.
Reach and stretch to position equipment while maintaining balance.
Bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working.
Manipulate small wires and objects easily.
Work in noisy and temperature-varying environments.
Travel up to 50 % of the time.
About the Team
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, including data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep the cloud running.
The AWS Data Center Commissioning Team (ACx) is a wholly independent business within DCGS, staffed by veteran professional Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Controls Engineers, Architectural Engineers, Project Managers, Operators, and seasoned Amazonians who provide detailed engineering and operational review and testing of equipment designs, operational functionality, and construction practices.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities (data centers, power generation or oil and gas).
Experience in commissioning.
Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
National Craft Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer license.
Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
