Position
Senior Design Engineer (Energy & Utilities) – REF: 2621c. Location: Galway (options in Cork, Dublin, and Portlaoise).
Responsibilities
Design & project management from conceptual phase through to project completion in the Energy and Utilities sectors, including building services/energy upgrades, renewables (biogas, biomass, CHP, solar, hydro, industrial utilities), pipelines, and installations (gas, oil, water, or wastewater).
Industrial and building services utilities design, HVAC, steam, refrigeration & compressed air systems.
Energy retrofit upgrades of buildings and building fabric.
Development of preliminary and detailed design calculations.
Development of design drawings and specifications.
Development of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design reports.
Balance of plant design.
Design and implementation of energy saving projects.
Attend and participate in HAZID/ HAZOP and LOPA studies.
Carry out PSDP role.
Requirements
Mechanical engineering degree (Honours bachelor’s degree or higher), or a similar discipline relevant to the specification above.
7+ years post‑graduate and relevant design experience. CEng would be beneficial but not essential.
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Good academic record.
Full clean driving licence and own transport required.
Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
