Our client provides a wide range of cost-effective and sustainable energy solutions for public, industrial, commercial, agricultural customers working across both Ireland and Northern Ireland. They are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor.
This is a hands on role in on site commercial aspect of systems nationwide and travel within Ireland is a requirement of the role.
The ideal candidate has the highest level of integrity, an excellent work ethic, enjoys supervising and building a team and the ability to perform professionally in a fast paced environment.
They are now recruiting for a Junior Quantity Surveyor. The primary purpose of this position is to assist in accurate estimation, cost control, and financial management of construction projects. The main objective is to ensure projects are completed within budget, delivering value for money while maintaining quality and adhering to contract terms. This person will report to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, and in their absence, to the Senior Contracts Manager.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Understand the commercial terms and conditions (T&C) from the sales team/or contract.
* Create commercial and contractual awareness amongst the project teams as per T&C.
* Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks from the Clients and Subcontractors.
* Support setting up and upload the commercial performance targets in the Company system.
* Update the project actuals VS budgets through working proactively with the project teams to ensure the
* commercial performance targets are met.
* Prepare the sales invoice to the Clients on time with the accounts receivable as per the T&C.
* Support implementation of the procurement/supply chain approach and strategic partnerships
* Assist the procurement team to source the cost-effective resources (material, equipment & contractor).
* Assist with preconstruction activities by feeding the latest technologies, their costs and lead time.
* Review subcontractor claims and project variations.
* Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
* Give feedback to the project team on the commercial related to the sales invoice and the cost.
* Give lessons learnt from the projects to the project and sales teams for future pricing.
* Attend site for the Client's meeting, site walkdown or work inspections.
* Manage the Client relationship.
* Assist in developing the Company commercial procedure and documents.
* Share knowledge and impart skills to other team members.
* Assist in any other duties which may encompass the role.
Experience & Qualifications
* Third Level Degree or equivalent in education and experience
* Minimum 2 years' experience
* Work with multiple projects/sites experience.
* Contracting service experience
* ME contractor experience would be an advantage.
* Understanding of NEC contracts would be an advantage
* Knowledge of renewable energy sector would be an advantage.
