A public sector organization is seeking Energy Engineers to join their Capital and Estates department based in North Dublin.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for Climate Action and Sustainability initiatives within the designated region. Working in close collaboration with the local Energy Officer, the Regional Sustainability Officer will lead efforts to engage staff and Green Teams, manage budgets, implement projects, and oversee comprehensive estate management. Key priorities will include advancing Climate Action and Sustainability goals, such as fostering green environments, conserving water, reducing waste, and supporting sustainable infrastructure development.
This is an initial 1-year contract role which offers great scope for extension and future permanency.

Responsibilities
10. Drive regional Climate Action and Sustainability efforts, with a focus on reducing carbon emissions, conserving water, minimizing waste, and fostering greener spaces.
11. Work closely with staff and "Green Teams" to promote and implement eco-friendly practices across facilities, such as hospitals, health centers, and primary care units.
12. Oversee Budgets and Projects: Manage regional sustainability funding, navigate public procurement processes, and ensure successful project implementation.
13. Serve as a Primary Point of Contact for internal teams and external partners, including community health organizations and regional collaborators.
14. Offer Technical Expertise for sustainability-focused maintenance across healthcare facilities.
15. Support Compliance with sustainability guidelines, assisting managers and teams in achieving climate action targets.
Requirements
Hold a Level 8 (or higher) Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) major academic award in (STEM) Engineering, Science, or Technology accredited by the relevant Professional Institute (Engineers Ireland etc.)
OR
Full Membership of the relevant professional association: i.e. Engineers Ireland
AND
Have had at least 5 years' satisfactory & relevant experience in planning, design, project management or construction of buildings or delivering Climate action and Sustainability in buildings/public sector.
