About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Quantity Surveyor
to join our dynamic Commercial team. In this role, you will take ownership of cost management, project administration, and financial controls across multiple large-scale engineering projects. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to grow with a forward-thinking company and work on exciting projects in diverse sectors.
Responsibilities:
Cost Management
* Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities.
* Manage project expenditure, track variations, and ensure financial targets are met.
* Develop cost forecasting models and provide expert financial insights to project teams.
Contract Administration
* Ensure compliance with all contractual terms and conditions.
Tendering and Procurement
* Lead tendering processes, preparing comprehensive pricing documentation.
* Evaluate supplier and subcontractor bids to ensure cost efficiency and value for money.
Reporting and Documentation
* Maintain and oversee accurate records of all cost-related activities.
* Generate detailed reports on project performance, financial metrics, and forecasts for senior management.
Client and Stakeholder Liaison
* Manage client relationships by providing detailed cost-related information and addressing queries.
* Negotiate with stakeholders to achieve favourable outcomes for the company.
Team Collaboration
* Work closely with site teams to ensure projects progress within budgets and schedules.
* Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership to resolve cost-related challenges.
Qualifications:
Essential
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
* Proven experience in cost management, budgeting, and financial reporting within the construction or engineering sector.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
Desirable
* Familiarity with electrical installations, particularly in Data Centres, Life Sciences, or Renewable Energy sectors.
* Experience with live costs cost management software.
