Job Overview
The Service Manager is a critical role in the early years setting, responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of the service. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and national quality frameworks.
This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent knowledge of Irish early years regulations, Aistear & Síolta, and Montessori frameworks.
The Service Manager plays a vital role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and child-led learning environment, aligned with the aforementioned frameworks. They will also support and oversee curriculum planning, observations, and documentation of children's learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Management
o Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring compliance with all Tusla requirements and national standards as well as company policies and procedures
o Foster a positive, inclusive, and child-led learning environment, aligned with Aistear and Síolta and Montessori frameworks.
o Support and oversee curriculum planning, observations, and documentation of children's learning and development.
* People Management
o Supervise, support, and evaluate staff performance through regular one-to-ones, mentoring, and training.
o Manage rosters, leave, and staffing levels to ensure regulatory ratios are always maintained.
o Serve as the Designated Liaison Person (DLP) for child protection and ensure full adherence to Children First guidelines.
* Regulatory Compliance
o Oversee all inspections and compliance matters, including Tusla, Pobal, and Department of Education requirements.

Requirements
* Essential Qualifications
o Minimum Level 7 qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education (or equivalent).
* Required Experience
o At least 3 years experience in a leadership role in an early years setting.
* Desirable Skills
o Garda vetting and up-to-date First Aid, Manual Handling, and Children First training.
