EHS Officer (Evening shift)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer
to join our team here in Dublin 15.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental safety laws on site and produce detailed reports on the work environment by evaluating the daily business operations for potential hazards, you will seek continuous improvement opportunities to better protect employees and the environment.
This position is currently advertised as an 8-hour evening shift.
However, shift patterns and durations may be subject to change, including the possibility of shifts of up to 12 hours, in line with operational requirements.
Any such changes will be communicated in advance with appropriate notice.
Evening shift: Mon - Thu 15:15 PM to 23:15 PM, Fri 14:15 PM to 21:15 PM
Key Responsibilities and End Results
Manage all aspects of health and safety on site
Develop and update safety, environment, and health procedures.
Perform audits for compliance with legislation on health and safety, food hygiene and food standards within canteen on company premises
Identify / report / take appropriate action in the event of non-compliance identified by employee's safety walks, during inspections / audits.
Facilitate emergency preparedness and response.
Support the EHSMP (EHS management program) with EHS team.
Participate in EHS routine meetings and update the status of EHSMP.
Oversee the routine performance of all environmental activities.
Follow up complaints of unsafe workplace.
Carry out accident / incident investigation including, but not limited to work related investigation, non-work related investigations, food poisoning and develop the investigation report, follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor occupational health hazards e.g. noise, air quality, vibration, temperature and take actions when safety levels are exceeded.
Identify and evaluate the environmental aspect and risk/hazard plant wide.
Support in annually EHS management plan and follow up.
Create Risk Assessment Method Statements.
Ensure all Safety Statement, Insurances are up to date and on file for all contractors.
Identify applicable regulations and legislation and evaluate the compliance.
Help to carry out the internal environmental audit regularly.
Support construction projects which may occur in the EHS and fire protection field.
Undertake occupational health and environmental reporting where required.
Drive world class health and safety culture initiatives throughout all departments.
Keep close contact with the local authorities concerned.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Conduct informational sessions at meetings and support compliance by providing education, advice, and enforcement of regulations, e.g., induction training, toolbox talks, pre-shift safety meetings.
Person specification
Computer literate with intermediate / Advanced MS Office skills.
Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross functional teams.
Strong planning & organisational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in the English language is a requirement alongside eligibility to work in Ireland.
Proven ability to meet deadlines.
A "can do" work ethic with excellent problem-solving skills.
Job Specifications
Qualification in Health & Safety.
May substitute experience in lieu of educational requirements.
1-2 years of experience in EHS.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction from senior management.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise.
Good knowledge of health and safety principles in Ireland.
Experience in developing and implementing health and safety programs and working with local authority regulators and partners.
