We're working with a leading contractor in their search for an experienced Construction Manager to join an upcoming project in Cork.
Key Responsibilities as Site Leader
6. Drive a positive and proactive approach towards health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture.
7. Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project.
8. Support all aspects of Project Team functions (PEP, Risk, Commercial Success, Financials, Processes, HSEQS, Stakeholder Management, Project Administration, Design Management & Project Close Out)
9. Support the Project Execution Plan, with specific reference to the HSE & Quality plan.
10. Prepare contract reports and provide updates to monthly cost meetings.
11. Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction of structures, facilities, and systems.
12. Develop project plans and schedules and execute plans to achieve agreed outcomes.
13. Coordinate project activities in accordance with company Quality System, Standard Quality Procedures, and Engineering Specifications.
14. Meet agreed objectives in areas of timely delivery, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
15. Achieve a 'right first time' philosophy throughout the project lifecycle.
16. Attend regular meetings with clients, architects, and consultants, and keep them informed of progress.
17. Manage quality control and safety matters on-site and ensure compliance with regulations.
18. Handle technical queries when necessary and interface with the client, consultant, and architect regarding RFI's.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Degree in Engineering discipline, Civil, Structural or Construction Management.
* Experience – ideally within a main/specialist contractor.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the construction industry and project execution.
* Computer literate and familiar with MS Office, Project, (or similar scheduling package).
* Good knowledge of safety management and quality management.
* Ability to lead with confidence, mentor, and motivate staff under them.
