Apply todayROLE & RESPONSIBILITIESTake full ownership of the financial control environment, ensuring robust internal controls across all departmentsOversee daily banking, cash handling, and receipt postings, ensuring accuracy across debtor and vehicle sales accountsEnsure timely and accurate reconciliation of all till accounts (workshop, parts, vehicle sales, and cash accounts)Monitor cash flow and working capital, escalating risks and opportunities to senior managementOversee all supplier accounting processes, including purchase invoices, sublet invoices, and manufacturer-related transactionsEnsure delivery dockets are accurately matched, approved, and posted in line with dealership controlsTake ownership of creditor reconciliations, resolving complex queries with suppliers and manufacturersAuthorise and review creditor and sundry cheque payments and direct debitsControl and reconcile vehicle purchases, ensuring car supplier direct debits are correctly allocated to chassis numbersMaintain accurate manufacturer, vehicle, and stock-related accounts in line with franchise requirementsPrepare and review monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysisProduce daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for Dealer Principal, General Manager, and external stakeholdersProvide commercial insight on departmental profitability, margins, and cost controlSupport budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning activitiesAct as finance system owner for CDK, ensuring data integrity, correct configuration, and best-practice usageEnsure compliance with accounting standards, tax obligations, manufacturer requirements, and internal policiesPrepare for and manage internal and external audits, including manufacturer and franchise auditsMaintain and continuously improve finance systems, procedures, and controlsEnsure regulatory, VAT, and statutory reporting deadlines are metAct as a key financial advisor to the Dealer Principal and senior management teamWork closely with department heads (Sales, Service, Parts, Bodyshop) to improve financial performanceTranslate financial data into meaningful insights for non-finance stakeholdersLiaise with banks, auditors, manufacturers, and external advisors as requiredIDEAL CANDIDATEFully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)Automotive industry knowledge preferred but not essentialUnderstanding of dealership KPIs and stockRelevant accounting software/management system knowledge pertaining to the industry
