As part of the audio software global development team at Qualcomm, you will have the opportunity to work with an international team of hardware, systems, and software engineers to develop and integrate cutting edge audio technology on platforms powered by Qualcomm So Cs.

Qualcomm So Cs provide integrated solutions for smart phone, computing, entertainment, automotive, connectivity, and Io T products worldwide.

The Linux audio software team drives the feature design, development, integration, and commercialization of audio software and applications on Qualcomms Snapdragon processors.

Seeking passionate, ambitious, and technically gifted software engineers for developing embedded audio and voice software for smart phones, smart speakers, smart assistants, smart media boxes, and a wide array of other smart devices for the mobile, compute, connectivity, automotive, and Io T product spaces.

At the same time, Qualcomm audio software team, as technology leader, is embarking on a journey to expand its contribution to open source ecosystem.

You will have the opportunity to be part of the initiative to build up Audio Reach TM open source project from infancy and engage with developers from broader audio software ecosystem in order to gain wider community support for the project.

Please note this role will require 5 days per week onsite in our Cork office*Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

ORMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

ORPh D in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Preferred Qualifications5 to 8 years experience in embedded system development & debugging on ARM or other embedded processor or MUC based So Cs preferably running Linux OSExperienced in C, C++, Python programming languages Embedded System Development Experience Experienced in developing and debugging software on ARM running Linux, Zephyr and DSP platforms Understanding of power and performance considerations on embedded systems particularly with respect to ARM linux and DSP platforms Experienced in Linux kernel and/or Zephyr architecture and device driver development, debugging, upstreaming Multimedia/Audio Experience Experienced with multimedia framework especially audio focus ones such as Pipewire, and ALSAHave general understanding in audio signal processing Experienced in audio usage models including playback, recording, voice activation, voice call, audio context detection Familiar with standard audio bus interfaces (I2 S, TDM, Sound Wire)Familiar with driver development for audio mixed signal peripherals (CODEC, speaker amp, digital microphone)Open Source Experience Passionate contributor or maintainer of established open source projects such as Pipe Wire, ALSA, Linux, Zephyr, and etc.
