About the Role:
We are currently recruiting a Lead Project Management Engineer to deliver client-side services in the Water Sector in Ireland. The successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of major projects with a focus on scope, budget, schedule, and risk as part of a major capital investment programme.
The Lead Project Management Engineer will act as the Contracting Entity's representative, managing the project from planning and design through to successful completion and commissioning. They will be responsible for delivering the project on time, within budget, and according to specifications, ensuring all project goals are met in line with the Employer's requirements and strategic objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and monitor project delivery, including schedule, interface, cost, variations, contract, and risk management, liaising with relevant team members.
2. Develop the Project Execution Plan aligned with the Contracting Entity's standards.
3. Coordinate project interfaces at all lifecycle stages.
4. Manage design consultants and external service providers.
5. Conduct stakeholder consultations.
6. Report monthly on project tasks and progress, including during construction.
7. Maintain and update the project risk register regularly.
8. Identify and suggest improvements to project management procedures and templates.
9. Review contractor's design and deliverables thoroughly.
10. Manage contracts effectively.
Key Requirements:
1. Minimum of 15+ years' experience in construction/infrastructure projects of similar size and complexity.
2. Relevant third-level qualification in engineering or related field.
3. Project management qualifications such as PMP or PRINCE II are advantageous.
4. Good knowledge of health & safety legislation and regulations.
5. Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
6. Technical expertise in water engineering.
7. Experience in contract administration and project delivery.
8. Ability to establish procedures for information review and collection.
9. Experience operating on-site is an advantage.
10. Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
11. Experience as a client's project manager.
12. Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and improve processes.
13. Self-motivated with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
14. Planning skills, familiarity with Oracle Primavera 6 is an advantage.
15. Excellent report writing skills.
