Financial AccountantAbout the CompanyAn established Irish distribution, wholesale and vendor services business with a nationwide customer base of over 800 is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its growing finance team. The business operates across multiple channels and is continuing to expand its commercial footprint.The RoleReporting directly to the Directors, the Financial Accountant will take ownership of core accounting functions while also contributing to commercial and strategic finance projects. This is a hands-on role offering broad exposure across all aspects of finance within a dynamic and fast-paced organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and insightful commentaryOversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily processingManagement of payroll processes in coordination with external payroll providersPreparation and submission of bi-monthly VAT returnsDevelopment of budgets, forecasts, and detailed cashflow reportsSupport in the preparation of statutory accounts and liaison with external auditors during year-endIdentification and implementation of process improvements, system enhancements, and strengthened internal controlsProvision of financial analysis and insights to support informed business decision-makingParticipation in ad-hoc finance and commercial projects as the business continues to growEffective communication and collaboration with stakeholders across all levels of the organisationSkills & AttributesStrong attention to detail with sound judgement and logical decision-making abilityProactive, hands-on approach with a problem-solving mindsetProven capability to review, develop, and improve finance processes and proceduresHighly organised, efficient, and able to manage competing priorities under pressureIT proficient, particularly in Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP systems is advantageous (experience with Agility is beneficial but not essential)Experience & QualificationsQualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent), with up-to-date knowledge of accounting standardsMinimum of 3 years' experience in an accounting or finance rolePrevious experience in a Financial Accountant role is desirableThe PackageCompetitive and attractive remuneration packageFinancial support for professional exams and continuing professional development (CPD)Excellent exposure to all areas of finance within the businessClear career progression opportunitiesSupportive, collaborative working environmentFlexible working arrangementsCompany pension schemeOn-site parking availableIf this opportunity aligns with your career goals and you are ready for your next move, please send your CV to or call for a discussion.
