Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Engineer for a contract role within a high‑performing Device Engineering team. This position is central to the development of a new, complex medical device, offering the chance to work on a project from concept through to validation.
Take ownership of engineering activities for New Product Development and Sustaining projects.
Design and develop electro‑mechanical components, assemblies, and plastic single‑use parts.
Lead the creation and execution of test plans and protocols; analyse data and draft detailed test reports.
Conduct thorough root cause analysis to solve complex engineering problems.
Build, test, and evaluate prototypes, iterating on designs for optimal performance.
Actively participate in and lead technical design reviews.
Ensure all work complies with design control and risk management standards in a regulated environment.
The ideal candidate will be a hands‑on problem‑solver, eager to contribute to a complex development project. While experience in a regulated environment is a plus, a strong fundamental engineering skill set and a collaborative spirit are most important.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
3+ years of post‑graduate experience in a mechanical engineering role.
Proven proficiency in 3D CAD; SolidWorks is essential.
Hands‑on experience with prototyping and lab testing.
A self‑starter who can manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication skills and a strong team‑oriented mindset.
Advantageous Experience
5+ years of experience within Medical Device development.
Familiarity with Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and design controls.
