Drive the scientific and translational pipeline to deliver commercially viable, evidence-backed peptide solutions. This role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on scientific depth, translating discovery into real‑world health applications.
Key Responsibilities
Scientific Strategy & Pipeline Leadership
Define and execute a high-impact scientific vision across peptide discovery and translation
Prioritise pipeline opportunities based on scientific validity, feasibility, and commercial value
Implement clear governance to drive efficient, data‑led go/kill decisions
Discovery & Platform Integration
Lead excellence across molecular biology, biochemistry, and computational discovery
Partner with AI/Data teams to improve discovery speed, accuracy, and scalability
Ensure rigorous experimental design, data integrity, and reproducibility
Translational Science & Evidence Generation
Convert early discoveries into claim‑ready, market‑relevant ingredients
Shape clinical and biomarker strategies alongside cross‑functional teams
Oversee scientific substantiation of claims in line with regulatory frameworks
Product Development & Cross‑Functional Delivery
Translate science into product‑ready assets (mechanisms, safety, formulations, dossiers)
Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Commercial teams to enable successful launch
Support scale‑up and technical problem‑solving
Intellectual Property Strategy
Lead IP generation and protection across peptides, platforms, and methodologies
Evaluate external IP and maintain a strong competitive position
Partner with legal teams to maximise long‑term enterprise value
External Influence & Partnerships
Act as a key scientific voice through publications and industry engagement
Build strategic partnerships across academia and industry
Secure collaborations and funding to accelerate innovation
Leadership & Team Development
Build and lead a high‑performing, multidisciplinary scientific team
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and pace
Mentor future leaders while remaining close to the science
Requirements
PhD in a relevant life science discipline
10+ years’ leadership experience in biotech, nutrition, ingredients, or pharma
Experience working with AI/ML‑driven discovery platforms
Strong data literacy and statistical understanding
Knowledge of regulatory and claims frameworks (global)
Experience shaping IP strategy and working with legal counsel
Recognised scientific credibility (publications, presentations)
