The Role
The TechOps Engineer will be a vital member of the Group IT Team, primarily responsible for managing and maintaining Windows and Active Directory systems across the Group. Experience with patch management, software deployment, and installation image management via SCCM, Intune, and Auto Patch is essential. Experience with Entra ID and Azure is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities / Outcomes
- Implementing security remediations and best practice recommendations.
- Maintaining and monitoring Active Directory/Azure Active Directory.
- Performing system and application patching.
- Supporting deployment and maintenance of IT infrastructure; VMware & Hyper-V experience is a plus.
- Documenting IT infrastructure architecture and processes.
- Deploying applications and updates via Intune.
- Creating and deploying server and laptop images aligned with security standards.
- Ensuring BCP/DR plans include Windows Infrastructure restoration and are thoroughly tested.
- Developing automation scripts using PowerShell for operational tasks.
Day-to-day Responsibilities
- Ensuring Windows systems are fully patched, troubleshooting, and addressing patching issues.
- Building deployment packages for SCCM/InTune releases.
- Managing patch dependencies and change requests.
- Implementing system changes to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Managing GPOs and Intune policies according to standards.
- Working within a shift-based rota from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday.
- Participating in an on-call rota.
- Expertise in Windows, Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory systems.
- Extensive experience with patch deployment and endpoint compliance using SCCM and Intune.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills in a global organization.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, eager to learn, with strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with Qualys is advantageous.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is advantageous.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications are a plus.
