Job Description:
Cpl Healthcare is recruiting for a permanent position based in the Republic of Ireland.
Position: Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry with a Special Interest in Neuropsychiatry or Psychiatry of Later Life
Type: Full-time, permanent role starting December 2021.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team supporting patients with Neuropsychiatric and severe, enduring psychiatric disorders.
* Collaborate with existing services to provide inpatient mental health services for adults with complex needs.
* Ensure regulatory compliance and oversee the provision of psychiatric services.
* Support clinical governance and strategic planning of Bloomfield Health Services.
* Lead clinical teams within the inpatient neuropsychiatric service.
* Provide clinical services within a legally compliant framework.
* Manage clinical service delivery within budget constraints.
* Contribute to teaching, research, and academic activities with Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin.
* Participate in cross-cover for inpatient care and staff leave.
Reporting: The post reports to the Clinical Director, working closely to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
Additional Information:
The role involves a 37-hour workweek and on-call commitments.
Candidate Requirements:
* Full registration with the Irish Medical Council as a Specialist (Psychiatrist) or eligibility for registration.
* At least seven years post-graduation experience.
* Desirable: Registration as a general adult psychiatrist with a subspecialty in Psychiatry of Later Life or Neuropsychiatry.
* Management experience or additional responsibilities in clinical roles.
* Ability to lead change and develop clinical services.
* Strong clinical, teaching, and leadership skills, with knowledge of clinical governance and statutory regulations.
* Ability to deliver contracted hours and participate in on-call duties.
