St Michaels Credit Union is located at Skehard Road, Blackrock Cork. T12 D302. We are currently seeking a volunteer to join our Board of Directors. All experiences are welcome to ensure we have a diverse Board.
Not everyone may seek to jump in as a Director. We also have various committees who may meet on a monthly or quarterly basis and cover areas like IT, Marketing & Credit. We would also love to hear from individuals with current or past lending experience and still hold (MCC / QFA qualified) to join our Credit Control Committee or our Credit Lending Committees. Perhaps you are working in a financial institution or recently retired and want to use your knowledge to contribute or learn more about Credit unions. These committees meet for approx 1 hour a month so it may suit you. Our Credit Control Committee is virtual.
Sharing your skills and expertise will help our organisation continue with our commitment to delivering sustainable services and supports for our members and communities throughout Blackrock & Mahon.
Whether this is your first time volunteering for a position or you have previous experience we want to hear from you. Enthusiasm, interest and a willingness to be involved is required. Being a volunteer can be extremely fulfilling as it allows you engage and take an active role in decisions that shape our business and support local communities. It also brings many other advantages including an appreciation of how Credit Unions operate and add new learning experiences for you.
For younger volunteers it adds to a CV portfolio, and learning from others. Volunteers bring that diverse knowledge, experience and willingness to help grow our business for our members.

Qualifications
* Live or work within the common bond areas of Blackrock & Mahon, Cork OR be a current member of St Michael's Credit Union.
* Interest in lending and credit union operations; MCC / QFA qualification is a plus for Credit Control or Credit Lending Committees.
Responsibilities
* Join the Board of Directors and participate in committee work (e.g., IT, Marketing, Credit).
* Attend meetings (monthly or quarterly) as part of committees; some roles may be virtual (e.g., Credit Control Committee).
* Contribute your skills and expertise to support the organisation’s mission and community commitments.

St Michaels Credit Union is based in Blackrock Cork with assets > €70m and serving 12,000 members. Surplus income is returned in the form of dividends/loan rebates or directed to improved member services and community sponsorships. NB: You do not need to be a current member but you must live or work within Blackrock and Mahon Cork or be an existing member.
