Overview & Role Context
As Podiatrist - Clinical Specialist (Musculoskeletal), you'll deliver advanced podiatric services on behalf of AMS in a hospital setting.
You will provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex foot and lower limb conditions, including gait disorders, sports injuries, and biomechanical issues.
The role focuses on advanced biomechanical assessment, orthotic therapy, and evidence-based rehabilitation. It also involves leading service development, supporting and training colleagues, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams such as physiotherapy, orthopaedics, and rheumatology.
The postholder contributes to research, audit, and quality improvement, while ensuring compliance with CORU and HSE standards.
Qualifications
* Be registered on the Podiatrists Register maintained by the Podiatrists Registration Board at CORU.
* Have 5 years fulltime (or an aggregate of 4 years) post qualification clinical experience which must be in the required area of specialism.
* Demonstrate a proven record of clinical excellence in the specialism.
* Hold a post graduate qualification or course relevant to specialism.
* Candidates must demonstrate achievement in the areas of clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practise development, teaching and research.
