Job Title: R&D Scientist
We are seeking a skilled Microbiologist to join our Research and Development team. As an R&D Scientist, you will be responsible for overseeing the S2 Microbiology laboratory, supervising staff, and contributing to the research and development of new products.
About the Role:
* Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the highest safety standards in the S2 Microbiology laboratory.
* Supervise Microbiology staff and R&D technicians, planning work accordingly.
* Act as the microbiological expert for clients at the Wexford site, driving research and product development.
* Manage projects related to Microbiology and R&D, ensuring timely completion.
* Provide technical support to Sales, Marketing, and Customer Relations teams.
* Liaise with QA, Production, and Marketing departments to ensure alignment.
* Contribute to the development of new ideas for research, analysis of existing products, and project management.
* Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice throughout the factory.
* Implement new methods, review and approve product artwork, and participate in R&D tax credit applications.
Requirements:
* A minimum of MSc/PhD in microbiology or a related discipline.
* 1-2 years' experience in food/pharmaceutical/medical device or microbiological industries.
* Strong communication, writing, problem-solving skills, and project management abilities.
* Proficiency in MS Office packages.
* Self-motivation, accuracy, and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a global team.
