Job Title: Environmental Specialist
Job Summary:
* Maintain and calibrate cutting-edge gas analysers to ensure accurate environmental data.
* Develop and refine operational protocols for efficient project delivery.
* Collect and process soil and water samples in diverse environments.
* Contribute to the creation of comprehensive time-series data and geospatial analyses.
* Implement robust quality assurance and control procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake high-resolution measurements of carbon exchange across multiple peatlands using advanced equipment.
* Travel to remote locations for in-situ measurements using infrared trace gas analysers and static chambers.
* Gather high-quality data from eddy covariance towers and other meteorological sensors on remote sites.
* Support the calibration, maintenance, and operational verification of instrumentation used to measure hydro-meteorological variables and greenhouse gas fluxes.
* Collect soil and water samples in accordance with established scientific protocols.
* Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations.
Person Specification:
* Degree in Environmental Science or a related field (Level 8+).
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a technical role.
* Strong understanding of natural greenhouse gas exchange processes.
* Excellent report writing and communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
* Experience with R, Python, ArcGIS, and remote sensing for data analysis and spatial interpretation.
