Chief Operations Officer - Construction/Engineering/Consultancy

THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Chief Operations Officer (COO). OHAC is a growing company, and we are looking for someone to bring the business forward with our founder and MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial and business operations background and will have been instrumental in the successful growth and development of a scaling organisation. They will have strong leadership and management skills, enabling our team of high-performing professionals to be effective, productive, and to grow in their roles. The role has a strong strategic remit, while also requiring hands on inputs as relevant to an SME.
Strategic Leadership
* Collaborate in setting and driving organisational vision, strategy and operations
* Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth and align the long and short-term objectives
* Lead on developing existing and new strands of business
* Develop strong relationships with our key clients and partners
Business Operation
* Develop an implementation plan to support scaling of the business
* Oversee the management of business functions including; Design, Construction and Advisory departments as well as support functions– Finance, IT, HR, Marketing and Administration
* New business acquisition including tenders and quotes
* Oversee project delivery activity and employee productivity, building an inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organisational goals are met
* Monitor performance levels and take corrective measures when necessary.
* Prepare detailed updates and forecasts and implement performance metrics /KPIs
* Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders
KEY REQUIREMENTS
* A proven track record of delivery in a similar leadership role
* Senior level experience of construction, engineering, consultancy or other relevant industry
* Must have the ability and willingness to operate at both strategic and operational levels
* Management expertise with a passion for developing the team
* Strong solution focus to support project delivery and development of systems, processes and controls
* Commercial acumen with experience of managing and interpreting financials
* Experience of fostering a culture and practice of continuous improvement and quality assurance including the creation of protocols
* Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
* A team player with excellent relationship, communication, planning and execution skills
