Located on the TU Dublin – Tallaght campus, MiCRA Technology Gateway is an industry‑focused research & development facility supported by Enterprise Ireland’s Technology Gateways programme, co‑funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme 2021‑2027.
The Gateway provides wide ranging technological expertise in many areas, especially in human & animal healthcare/diagnostics, pharma/biopharma and environmental analysis, and analytical services and research.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the MiCRA Technology Gateway Manager in promoting the Gateway and the Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateway Network.
* Provide technical overview for initiation, management and delivery of industry projects to partner companies.
* Research technical challenges presented by client companies.
* Design and develop novel and creative technical solutions.
* Take responsibility for research design and outcomes.
* Specify and source materials and equipment in consultation with suppliers and client companies, as appropriate.
* Write reports for clients, prototype and disseminate research results through technical publications.
Qualifications
* An Honours Degree from an approved degree awarding institution or equivalent in a scientific, engineering, technology, food or closely related discipline (Essential).
* Evidence of business development skills that led to a strong collaboration record with industrial partners (Essential).
* Experience in an R&D focused organisation (two years) in the public or private sector (Essential).
* Knowledge of techniques and methodologies used in STEM research (Desirable).
* Strong understanding of the requirements of undertaking multiple stakeholder R&D projects from a commercial perspective (Desirable).
* Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex information effectively to a range of audiences (Desirable).
* Strong evidence of working in small teams to deliver projects in a timely manner (Desirable).
Salary €37,225 gross per annum (scale Research Assistant B).
