Arcadis is seeking a 3D Printing Technician to support the introduction and scaling of new additive manufacturing (AM) technologies at a world-renowned medical device company in Cork. This role is focused on New Product Introduction (NPI), including equipment onboarding, vendor coordination, and ensuring robust processes are established for successful deployment into manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
NPI & Equipment Implementation
Support the introduction, installation, and qualification of new 3D printing equipment and technologies (e.g., FDM, SLS, SLA).
Collaborate with engineering and validation teams to ensure equipment meets performance, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best-known methods (BKMs) for new processes.
Vendor Coordination & Oversight
Act as the primary point of contact for equipment vendors and service providers during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Coordinate vendor activities on-site, ensuring alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
Track vendor performance and elevate technical or delivery issues to project stakeholders and management.
Issue Management & Reporting
Identify technical risks and process gaps during NPI phases and proactively drive resolution.
Escalate critical equipment, process, or quality issues to management with clear impact assessments and mitigation plans.
Provide regular updates on NPI progress, risks, and milestones to cross‑functional teams.
Process Development & Continuous Improvement
Partner with design and engineering teams to optimize print parameters and process capability for new products.
Support validation activities, including test builds, data collection, and process capability analysis.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure all NPI activities align with medical device quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Support inspection strategies and verification methods to ensure product quality during process development.
Requirements:
Level 7 qualification in a medical device, engineering, or manufacturing-related field, or a trades background with relevant experience.
Experience with 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLS, SLA) and/or CAD/3D modelling is highly desirable.
Experience in NPI, equipment qualification, or working with vendors in a regulated environment is an advantage.
