Overview
At Medtronic Patient Care Systems (PCS), we power the digital heartbeat behind life‑saving cardiac therapies. Your work will enable clinicians to monitor, manage, and protect millions of patients with implantable cardiac devices.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, test, debug, and document integrated solutions and enhance existing components to meet business needs while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and processes.
Contribute to design and architecture to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software, clearly articulating the implications of design decisions to technology leadership.
Develop reusable patterns and encourage innovation that increases team velocity.
Demonstrate ownership of software features and drive their development through the SDLC.
Conduct design and code reviews to ensure code meets or exceeds coding best practices, unit testing, security, scalability, and maintainability guidelines.
Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to solve complex technical problems.
Participate in process improvement initiatives for the software team, recognizing areas for improvement and collaborating to develop and document improvements.
Collaborate on design with team members, product owners, and internal and external partners across geographies.
Qualifications
Basic Qualification: Level 8 degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with no minimum years required.
Specialized Knowledge Required
Angular, C#, .NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, TypeScript, HTML, Browser Dev Tools, CSS/SCSS
Web API, WCF, Microservices
Kafka, Kubernetes Compute Platform
SQL Server, NoSQL databases
REST APIs – Swagger is a bonus
NUnit, mock frameworks for unit and component testing
AWS, Azure
Docker, Kubernetes
Git, GitHub
CI/CD pipeline concepts
Strong knowledge of software design, development, debugging, and testing practices
Strong problem‑solving skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficiency working in a team environment

Experience with Azure DevOps, pipelines, and YAML
Experience with API documentation tools such as Swagger and OpenAPI
Experience with static code analysis tools such as SonarQube
Experience with security scanning tools such as Contrast and JFrog X‑Ray
Experience with observability tools such as ELK and Dynatrace
Experience designing for medical devices
Demonstrated skills in writing engineering documents (specifications, etc.)
Experience with configuration management tools
Experience with Agile methodologies and Behavior‑Driven Development
Experience with open‑source development platform/tools
Benefits & Compensation
Salary range (Ireland): 51,280.00 EUR – 76,920.00 EUR.
Eligible for the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
