Exciting role with a public sector client, working on major and minor capital works projects in the West of Ireland (roles available across Galway, Mayo & Roscommon).
We're looking for someone from a building surveying / engineering background to work as part of an estates management team responsible for capital works on a number of facilities and buildings.
Responsibilities: Plan and supervise the execution of major & minor capital works on sites across Galway/Mayo/Roscommon.
Prepare budgets for the proposed Minor & Major Capital work and ensuring that projects are within agreed budgets.
Define in accordance with overall guidelines, maintenance requirements of all buildings, services, equipment, major & minor capital works, fire precautions and risk management schemes and propose priorities in the allocation of resources Responsibility over selection of contractors for bid purposes and recommendation of tenders for acceptance for all projects Ensure that buildings, services, and equipment are adequately maintained in accordance with approved maintenance programs Compliance at all times with Health and Safety regulations, including Fire Safety regulations and awareness of on-site safety procedures Requirements: Relevant degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
4+ years experience in a similar role Track record of effectively managing multiple projects Familiarity with current construction management software and tools Demonstrated knowledge of building regulations and safety standards.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
There are two positions available, one based in Galway, the other in Mayo, both requiring onsite work with 30 days holidays and a 35 hour working week.
