Postdoctoral Scientist Feedstock Mapping The Centre for Applied Bioscience Research (CABR) is a Research Centre and Technology Gateway that is a collaboration between Munster Technological University and the Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest.
The CABR Technology Gateway is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the ERDF Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme *******.
CABR responds to the challenges of biotech, food and life science industries through the sustainable development of viable and cost-effective processes and products from bio-resources.
This collaborative and risk management approach improves our clients competitiveness and competence and facilitates the transfer of these innovative scientific solutions.
CABR have significant expertise in bioprocessing and have recently been awarded funding from the Department of Food, Agriculture and the Marine to examine a range of natural biomass for its potential to be valorised in food systems.
As part of this funding, biomass mapping is essential to determine what biomass may be available nationally with associated seasonality, waste status, etc.
This will involve quantifying and characterizing biomass arising in Ireland, with a particular focus on feedstocks that may be suitable for up-cycling into food ingredients.
CABR currently has a vacancy for a Postdoctoral Scientist with high self-motivation and excellent written and verbal communication skills to deliver this task, as part of a wider team.
