We are Hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing - ADON to lead a Nursing Home in Wexford, Ireland.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical leadership and support the effective day-to-day operations of the nursing home.
Oversee the delivery of high-quality care, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to clinical standards across the service.
Promote and maintain a positive, collaborative, and team-focused working culture.
Lead and support clinical governance initiatives, audits, quality improvement activities, and risk management processes.
Assist with staff rostering, performance management, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
Act as a key point of contact for residents and their families, supporting effective communication and person-centred care.
Deputise for the Director of Nursing when required and support operational decision-making.
Ensure medication management practices comply with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) guidelines and best practice standards.
Liaise with GPs, pharmacists, and relevant healthcare professionals regarding medication reviews, audits, and safe medication practices.
Ensure all nursing staff are competent in medication management through appropriate training, induction, supervision, and adherence to safe prescribing, administration, and documentation practices, including electronic prescribing systems.
Requirements
Registered Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior nursing or management role such as Assistant Director of Nursing, Clinical Nurse Manager, or Senior Staff Nurse is desirable.
Demonstrated clinical competence and professional ability within a healthcare or residential care setting.
Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care and promoting resident wellbeing.
Good working knowledge of HIQA standards, regulations, procedures, notifications, and best practice guidelines.
Post-registration qualification in Gerontology and/or Dementia Care is highly desirable.
Willingness to undertake further relevant postgraduate study within 3 years of employment, with employer support.
Relevant post-registration qualification and commitment to continuous professional development.
Must hold valid eligibility to work in Ireland.
