Job Purpose:
The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely supply of raw materials and components required for the manufacturing of electrical panels. This role involves managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, and working closely with production, procurement, and engineering teams to meet production schedules while minimizing inventory costs and disruptions.
Job Location:
This is a full-time office role. The base location for this role will be our manufacturing facility in Kingscourt. Occasional visits to our other manufacturing facility may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Planning & Scheduling:
o Develop and maintain material requirements plans (MRP) based on Supply Plan.
o Create and manage purchase orders for raw materials and stock- non stock components used for manufacturing.
o Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted production.
· Inventory Management:
o Monitor inventory levels to maintain optimal stock without overstocking or stockouts.
o Monitor Kanan and 2-Bin stock to ensure there is no stockout situation.
o Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate inventory records and material handling.
o Communicate regularly with suppliers to confirm delivery schedules, resolve issues, and manage lead times.
o Evaluate supplier performance and escalate issues that may impact production timelines.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration:
o Work closely with production, engineering, and procurement teams to support new product introductions and engineering changes.
o Coordinate with quality assurance to address non-conforming materials.
o Use ERP/MRP systems to manage materials data and generate relevant reports.
o Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as material availability, inventory turnover, and supplier on-time delivery.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Relevant qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Production, or a related field.
· Minimum 2-3 years of experience in materials coordination, material planning, supply chain management or purchaser.
· Experience with ERP systems.
· Excellent communication and planning skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
· Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
· Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues in a dynamic production environment.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience in SAP highly desired but not compulsory.
