About the Role
A leading mechanical engineering contractor is seeking a
Senior Mechanical Project Manager
to support the delivery of major
pharmaceutical and life sciences
projects in Athlone.
This role suits a proactive leader with strong technical and commercial oversight skills and a proven background delivering complex projects on the
contractor side
.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full project lifecycle from planning and budgeting through to delivery and completion.
Coordinate with engineering, BIM, QA and procurement teams to ensure technical, commercial and safety compliance.
Monitor and report on project progress using internal systems and processes.
Carry out regular site inspections to track progress and address issues.
Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
Oversee cost control, budgeting, forecasting and commercial reporting.
Deliver weekly and monthly progress reports to senior stakeholders.
Support strategic project planning, risk mitigation and operational improvements.
Candidate Requirements
Mechanical background with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5+ years' experience as a Project or Contracts Manager within a
Mechanical/HVAC contractor environment
.
Proven delivery experience on
pharma or life sciences
projects (essential).
Strong understanding of Mechanical, HVAC and Process systems.
Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel within Europe occasionally.
