We are seeking an experienced Setting-Out Engineer to join a leading main contractor on high-profile civils project Kildare. This role involves precision survey and control work to ensure accurate execution of design layouts, collaborating closely with site teams, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

* Employment Type: Permanent, full-time
* Experience: 1–3 years in a similar setting-out or site-engineering role
Role & Responsibilities
* Execute setting-out tasks according to design drawings and company procedures
* Establish, verify, and maintain control points and reference lines for kerbs, roads, cycle lanes, drainage runs, and foundations
* Carry out as-built and valuation surveys, processing and delivering accurate survey data
* Produce daily setting-out and as-built reports for client and site-management sign-off
* Coordinate with survey, QA/QC, and site teams to resolve alignment and positional queries in real time
* Manage instrumentation (Total Station, GPS/EDM) and ensure equipment calibration and care
* Review drawings and specifications to confirm calculation accuracy and contract compliance
* Communicate survey information clearly to foremen, operatives, subcontractors, and consultants
* Maintain daily site records, including risk assessments, method statements, and inspection plans
* Adhere strictly to company and site-specific health & safety protocols, reporting concerns promptly
Requirements
* Third-level degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
* 1–3 years’ experience in setting-out or site-engineering roles on civils/infrastructure projects
* Proven expertise in setting-out, levelling, and survey data processing
* Proficient with Topcon and/or Trimble GPS/EDM instrumentation
* Competent in AutoCAD for survey deliverables and verification
* Good knowledge of current building regulations and quality-control standards
* Valid Safe Pass certificate
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Project, PowerPoint, Excel)
* Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain high attention to detail
