Aughinish Alumina is a leading industrial plant located on a 1,300-acre site in Askeaton on the Shannon Estuary in Ireland.
Our Facility
We are Europe's largest Alumina Refinery, producing 1.96 million tons per annum of primary raw material for aluminium production.
In addition to our refinery, we also have a 160 MW Combined Heat & Power Plant.

The Role
This position offers the opportunity to work in a multidiscipline engineering department, collaborating with electrical/instrument engineers, DCS engineers, operations personnel, and others to implement designs.
You will conduct surveys and reports on site equipment and installations, generating as-built drawings of existing installations and updating documentation.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Generating electrical design drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and project documentation;
* Specifying and procuring electrical and instrument equipment according to appropriate standards;
* Preparing project documents, health and safety plans, specifications, bills of materials, and material purchases;
* Liaising with the project team and contractors during installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and testing;
* Working with plant personnel to optimize electrical and instrument performance;
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A Level 7/8 qualification in Electrical Technology or Electrical Engineering;
* No less than 3 years of relevant experience;
* Desirable: Experience in understanding wiring diagrams, generating drawings/schematics (using AutoCAD), and implementing electrical installations;
* Knowledge of electrical and instrument design standards as well as electrical installations.
