Randox are a world leader in diagnostics for clinical healthcare, toxicology and food security and are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Research and Development team in Dungloe, County Donegal. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to work on developing innovative and pioneering products at the cutting edge of medical device research & development.

Location: Meenmore, Dungloe, County Donegal, F94 TV06.

Contract Offered: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours / Shifts: 40 hours p/w, either 4 x 10 hour days, 5 x 8 hour days or 4 x 9 hour days with 4 hours on a Friday. (One day WFH)

What does this role involve?

The key function of this role is the design and development of new diagnostic platforms and the continuous improvement of existing platforms, including systems to support Randox internal departments. This is an extremely varied role that will require you to develop a varied skillset, including:

* Develop design concepts based on user requirements.
* Contribute to the development of functional requirements specifications based on user requirements and approved concept designs.
* Develop software and control solutions for medical device platforms.
* Work in a multidisciplinary team, communicating requirements to ensure coordinated development and testing.
* Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, scientists, and Software Test Engineers to ensure rigorous testing, verification, and validation.
* Identify appropriately specified COTS products/software for use within a system.
* Liaise with external design/manufacturing companies on technical specifications and project progress.
* Liaise with purchasing on supplier evaluation.
* Generate and maintain technical documentation, including code review documentation, work instructions, FMEA, BOM, etc.
* Conduct, review, and revise FMEA.
* Contribute to risk/hazard analysis for products.
* Report on project/status updates to management.
* Contribute to design change management for products.
* Ensure systems meet quality and compliance standards.

Essential criteria:

* Minimum 5 years’ professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in C#.
* Degree/Higher qualification in a STEM discipline.
* Experience leading software development teams and project delivery.
* Experience requirements gathering.
* Designing and architecting software applications.
* Experience with UI design patterns such as MVVM, MVC, MVP.
* Experience with agile practices and CI/CD platforms.
* Experience with relational databases.
* Experience in all stages of SDLC.

Desirable:

* Mentoring experience or assisting software project delivery.
* Experience with WPF, WinUI, Blazor, MAUI, Xamarin, or Avalonia.
* Proficiency in a second programming language (Python, Java, C++).
* Experience with communication protocols for embedded devices.
* Experience with ORM.NET Core, ASP.NET Core Web API.
* Mathematical algorithms coding experience.
* Cloud infrastructure experience (MS Azure or AWS).
* Experience working within a regulated environment.
