Historically, this role was termed Treasurer responsible for oversight of the charity's expenditure. The individual will be expected to review monthly accounts ahead of board meetings so that he/she can inform their fellow Trustees of the financial position of the organisation. The individual appointed will be encouraged to contribute to the other business of the Board ensuring good governance in line with the Charities' Regulator's Code. The Board meets roughly ten times a year in the Centre in Dundrum (close to the Luas stop) with use of Teams for online participation on occasion.He/she will also work with our external auditors at the end of the financial year and ensure the HSE are satisfied with the organisation's use of the funds provided by them. It will also be necessary to assist the Secretary with reporting to the Charities' Regulator and to ensure all appropriate returns are made to the Revenue Commissioners. This Trustee will be an authorised signatory for the organisation. It is also expected that the appointed person will sit on one of the sub-committees currently in operation.
