We are seeking an experienced Site Agent / Construction Manager to lead and deliver multiple construction projects across both urban and rural sites.
Responsibilities
Project Management
Manage and deliver multiple projects from commencement to completion.
Plan and allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, plant, subcontractors, and materials.
Work closely with the purchasing team to ensure timely procurement of materials and services.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve best value and quality.
Monitor project progress, budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
Prepare regular client and senior management reports on project status.
Site Leadership & Supervision
Supervise and direct site staff, subcontractors, and operatives, providing guidance and mentorship.
Mentor and develop junior site personnel to enhance team capability.
Promote a strong culture of safety and ensure compliance with HSQE standards.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, surveyors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
Manage multiple stakeholders and maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Technical & Contractual Oversight
Interpret and manage contract documents, ensuring compliance with obligations and client specifications.
Coordinate design elements for temporary and permanent works, including certification.
Obtain required permits and licenses from relevant authorities.
Collaborate with quantity surveyors to measure and value completed works.
Health, Safety, Quality & Environment (HSQE)
Ensure all works comply with legal, regulatory, and company HSQE standards.
Identify risks and opportunities, taking proactive measures to mitigate issues.
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
Membership (or working towards) of a relevant professional institution.
Minimum 2 years' experience in a Site Agent or similar role, preferably on civil engineering projects.
Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Excellent understanding of construction processes and contract management.
Full clean Irish/UK/EU driving licence.
