We are currently looking for a Graphic Novel Lead/Producer who can produce our elaborate lineup of 9 comics (1 Season) with a bit of a unique approach - we have many more people involved than normal. More below.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
We are creating films, games and comics - stories with soul - for our own fantasy universe (think Lord of the Rings, Star Wars etc., but smaller - for now hehe). We started 4 years ago as a small team of folks that were initially supposed to package a TV show. Finding ourselves unable to give away our IP, we decided to build out the universe ourselves to retain (creative) control. Now, 4 years later, our rag-tag band of pirates has grown to over 150 members (far over 200 depending on how you count).
Our current slate includes 3 short films (2 in active development, 1 in post production, 30min each), a comic book series (9 issues of Season 1, 40+ pages/issue), and two games (one Card Game online and offline version featuring our characters and factions and one TTRPG with oneshots, campaign rules and region expansions). We also produce fantastic music, Shopify-sold merchandise, handcrafted art, documentaries about the making of Soul Atlas, Lore Videos, and Shorts.
We have been working on getting greenlight, production up, worldbuilding ready and marketing infrastructure set up. Now our task is mostly about improving the existing processes and bringing us into our first launches with financial implications (thus far, we took on some investment but have not made revenue yet - you first have to make a film to make box office).
THE PIPELINE
Our comics work a bit differently in terms of pipeline:
STAGE 1 | Writersroom - We have a small international writersroom that (Germany, US, Ireland, Portugal) that develops the full Season of 9 comics with a long arc spanning roughly 400 planned pages. (Developmental editors are embedded in the team)
STAGE 2 | Worldbuilding - Our dedicated worldbuilding team breaks down all panels and further develops and researches into each element that we will see/touch with the comic. They also interface with the writers during creation.
STAGE 3 | Concept Art - We bring our in-house concept art team to develop local fashion and architecture styles, key locations, props etc. We also collaborate with our fashion team to create film-grade concept art for all characters.
STAGE 4 | The Standard process - We start with thumbnailing, review with department heads from Stage 1-3. Then, once all concepts are collected, we move into penciling, inking, coloring, post-processing, lettering, and finally make it ready for delivery.
Our comics will be available digitally and physically (initially DTC on Amazon + Shopify) with printed versions, including an artbook section in the end.
