Job Title: Bar/Event Staff

Department: Event Management

Responsible to: Café Management Team

Responsible for: To be the welcoming face of Bewley's and to assist in all areas of the café operation ensuring that guest experience is unique while following health & safety regulations and guidelines.

Purpose of Job: To comply with all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the friendly and efficient service to all our Café guests in a clean and hygienic environment

General:

* To arrive for work on time dressed in full clean uniform/attire and name badge.
* To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene presenting a professional appearance to our guests as per the company dress code.
* Always striving to achieve our Core Values & Mission Statement of "Delight the Senses".
* To remain calm, composed and in-control even in unusual situations
* To communicate our services and facilities to Guests as required and to assist them where appropriate.
* To ensure a safe workplace by identifying hazards and taking corrective action.
* To ensure that all fire doors are closed and that fire routes are kept clear at all times and to assist guests during a fire or emergency evacuation.
* To be aware of and comply with company policy regarding: Fire, Health & Safety, Hygiene, Food Hygiene and Customer Care & Security.
* To read, understand and comply with your responsibilities as defined in the Health & Safety Statement and Staff Handbook.
* To maintain all Bewley's service standards.

Main Duties:

* To always greet guests in a friendly, welcoming and professional manner.
* To be aware of daily business
* Effectively handle guest complaints, compliments, concerns or special requests.
* Offering suggestions for upselling
* Serving food and beverage to guests safely, effectively and efficiently
* To ensure all guests are billed correctly, issued with a receipt on the guests' request and thanked for their business.
* To ensure all areas are always kept clean and tidy and to par stock levels, cleanliness and ensure all measures are implemented to control breakages/loss.
* Daily cleaning duties and check lists as per area and carry out extra duties such as deep cleaning where required.
* To ensure compliance, always, of all relevant legislation relating to weights and measures, licensing and underage drinking.
* To ensure all credit and financial transactions are handled in a secure manner.
* To operate the till system as per strict company policy. All tables need to be processed and closed correctly.
* To ensure the accuracy of floats, credit card machines & report mistakes/over rings etc. to the Manager on Duty
* Power/Heating to be conserved; lights in rooms, equipment etc. to be turned off when not in use.
* To ensure good communication always maintained.
* To ensure to treat all colleagues with dignity and respect, and to do what we said we will do.

Occasional Duties:

* To attend meeting/training sessions as required.
* To assist in the training and assistance of a new staff member.
* To carry out any other reasonable requests made by Management.
* To be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capacity as assigned, including redeployment to alternative locations if required and as directed by the Management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

* Previous experience of hospitality is a plus but not essential; full training provided.
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
* Legal right to work in Ireland.
* We are looking for a strong personality who is outgoing, friendly and ambitious with a "can-do" attitude to join our team.
* Willing to learn new skills and open to cross departmental training.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term, Specified-purpose

Pay: €13.55-€13.60 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
